How can we help?

Help for Arrow Solitaire: Crosswise on iPhone, Android and the web. Start with the quick checks below, or email DDInsights directly.

Try these first

Mode note: Smart and Expert guidance below applies to Android 1.27.0 and later and the current web game. Energy is an Android feature and is not part of the browser version. The iPhone version currently has an earlier feature set.

  1. Fully close Arrow Solitaire: Crosswise, then open it again.
  2. Install the latest available version from the store and restart your device.
  3. Check that the device has free storage and a current operating-system update.
  4. If a tap is not accepted, make sure the arrow has a same-colour partner along its horizontal or vertical axis. In Classic and Expert, a tap without a valid pair costs one life; Smart has no lives. The only exception is the very first Classic level: it is a tutorial without hearts, and lives start from level 2.
  5. In Smart, you must clear every arrow. Use Undo after a bad move, or restart the level — Smart has no lives to lose (on Android a restart counts as a start for energy). On Android, from your third attempt at a Smart level, a loss also offers Skip — for a video or 3 coins. Some later Smart levels provide their own local Rotate charges. Recolor in Smart draws on the shared booster wallet and is optional — every board can be cleared without it; Undo takes a Recolor back too, returning the colour while the charge stays spent.
  6. Classic and Expert use lives and the shared booster wallet for Rotate and Recolor. If the board is stuck, return Home and restart the level. Every board has a valid solution; the order of taps matters.
Do not reinstall before reading “Saved progress” below. Deleting the app or clearing site data can permanently remove progress that exists only on that device.

Saved progress by platform

iPhone · iOS

Stored on the device

Your campaign and unfinished level are saved locally. Closing the app during a level should let you continue from Home.

There is no Arrow Solitaire: Crosswise account or cloud-save service on iOS. Deleting the app removes its local progress.

Android

Stored on the device

The full state is saved locally on your device. There is no game account or cloud-save service. Android system backup or device transfer may restore non-sensitive game state, but this is controlled by Android and is not a Crosswise sync service.

Web browser

Stored in that browser

The browser version keeps progress in local site storage. Private browsing, clearing site data or changing browser/device may remove or hide it.

Browser progress does not synchronize with the iPhone or Android app.

Common questions

Can I play offline?

The installed iPhone and Android games can be played without a network connection; without a network the Android app simply shows no ads. The browser version must be loaded from the website and is not guaranteed to work offline.

How do Classic, Smart and Expert differ?

On Android 1.27.0 and later and in the current web game, Classic and Expert use lives and the shared Rotate and Recolor booster wallet (the first Classic level is a tutorial without hearts). Smart uses sparse boards and is completed only when every arrow is cleared. Smart has no lives: Undo is free, while starting over follows the Android energy rules below. Recolor in Smart draws on the shared booster wallet and is optional — every board can be cleared without it. Some later levels provide their own local Rotate charges. The iPhone version currently has an earlier feature set.

Someone sent me a challenge link — what is it?

On Android 1.27.0 and later, the result screen after a cleared board offers “Challenge a friend”. The app asks our server for a link to that exact board and opens your usual share sheet. Whoever opens the link plays that one board in the browser, with no download and no account.

A challenge page is deliberately one board and nothing more: no level ladder, no coins, no energy. It also stays clear of your own web game — a challenge cannot advance, spend from or overwrite the progress saved in that browser. Once the board is cleared, the ways on are the app or passing the same link to someone else. The link carries the board, not you: your friend sees nothing of your progress, and you are not told when they finish.

The board looks small — what do Zoom in and Full board do?

On dense boards, in later Classic levels and in Expert, the game offers a Zoom in button. It brings the arrows closer and lets you move around the board; Full board returns to the whole picture. Nothing about the puzzle changes, only the view.

On Android, the system Back button closes an open shop or help panel — it is not the same as the arrow in the game’s own top bar.

What is energy, and why can’t I start a level?

On a fresh install of the Android app the first twelve starts do not use energy at all; if you updated an existing install, energy is charged as before. After that, starting a level costs one energy, and restarting the same level costs one as well. You hold up to 5, and one more returns every 20 minutes — so a full bar refills in about an hour and forty minutes. Undoing a move is free and never costs energy.

If the bar is empty and you have at least one coin, the button reads “Play · −1 coin”: one tap trades that coin for two energy and starts the level right away. You can also trade in the exchange on the home screen at the same rate, one coin for two energy. With no energy and no coins, the timer shown next to the bar is the only way forward. Energy exists only in the Android app — the browser version has no energy and no timer.

Why did “Continue” disappear?

“Continue” appears only for an unfinished active level. A completed or failed level is cleared from the resume slot. If an active level disappeared unexpectedly, email us with your platform, app version and what happened immediately before closing the game.

Can you restore or reset my progress?

We do not operate an Arrow Solitaire: Crosswise account or gameplay server. Progress exists only in local app or site storage on your device, so we cannot restore it remotely. Contact us before deleting data if you are unsure.

Are there purchases or paid subscriptions?

The Android app offers optional one-time purchases: coin packs for the in-game Exchange Shop and a single "No Ads" purchase. There are no subscriptions. Payments are handled by Google Play, and "No Ads" is restored automatically when you reinstall under the same Google account. It permanently removes the banner and the automatic full-screen ads between levels.

The game stays fully playable for free. On Android 1.28.0 and later, a banner appears on Home and, where the screen has room, on level results. After a successful level, a full-screen ad may follow in the natural break; it gives no reward, and if it is not ready the game simply continues. The first two levels in every mode have no full-screen ads, and pauses between them limit their frequency. Reward videos play only after your tap: in the Exchange Shop, a video gives one coin, up to five coins per day; in Smart, from your third attempt at a level, a loss offers Skip for a video (or for 3 coins). There is no extra-life ad. Both reward videos stay available with "No Ads" because they never play without your tap. The iPhone and browser versions currently offer no purchases or ads.

Can I change the colours, sound or music?

On Android, the Palette button on Home or in the game switches between two colour palettes. The smooth arrows and candy-bright effects stay the same. Home also has separate sound and music controls. On the first run, choose which sounds to keep on; music starts off. You can keep the effects with music off, or mute all audio. Your choices are saved on the device.

How is my data handled?

The game is playable without creating an account. For a complete, platform-specific description of analytics, crash reporting, attribution, advertising and your choices, read our Privacy Policy. Privacy and deletion requests can be sent to the support email below.
