A QUIET LOGIC PUZZLE

Crosswise Arrows

TAP PUZZLE

One rule: tap an arrow, and it clears its pair.

Every arrow lies along its own axis. Tap it and it fires both ways at once, sweeping the line until it meets a partner of its colour. Two arrows cross — both leave the board, and everything between them goes too.

Nothing falls, nothing spawns. The field only gets emptier, and the order in which you empty it is the whole puzzle.

Two arrows meet.
Everything between them leaves.

Tap an arrow It fires along its own axis in both directions at once. Where it stops is not up to you.
Two arrows cross Meeting a partner of its own colour clears both — and sweeps up everything caught between them.
Empty the board Clear an arrow: +2. Sweep up a star: +3. Every arrow left behind: −1.
Three lives, two boosters Tapping an arrow with nowhere to go costs a life. Rotate turns an arrow onto the other axis, Recolor repaints it. Three charges of each, on every board.

A board that only empties

Five hand-made levels teach the rule — colours grow from three to five, boards from five-by-five to nine-by-sixteen. After that the game keeps building boards of its own, each one solvable by construction.

Level one: a five-by-five board, 24 arrows in three colours24 arrows · 3 colours
Level two: a six-by-eight board, 47 arrows47 arrows
Level three: a seven-by-ten board, 69 arrows in four colours69 arrows · 4 colours
Level four: an eight-by-twelve board, 94 arrows and two stars94 arrows · 2 stars
Level five: a nine-by-sixteen board, 141 arrows in five colours141 arrows · 5 colours

Made to be quiet

No timer, no streak Nothing counts down and nothing punishes a pause. A board waits exactly as long as you need it to.
A hint when you want one Stuck on a board that stopped making sense? One tap reveals a move that still works — and nothing pushes you to use it.
Ink on paper The game is drawn like a manga spread — ink outlines, screentone, a warm sheet under the arrows. Other visual themes are there in the settings if you want a different light.
Offline, no account Boards are built on your device. No sign-up, no cloud, nothing to restore.

The board is already waiting

One rule takes ten seconds to learn. The order takes rather longer.

Questions before the first tap

Is Crosswise Arrows free?Yes. It is free on Google Play, supported by ads, and you can play it right here in the browser with no download.
Does the game work offline?Yes. Every board is generated on your device, so the game needs no connection to play.
How do you play?Tap an arrow that has a partner of its own colour along its axis. It fires both ways at once, and everything between the two is swept off the board together with them. Clear a third of the board and finish with a positive score to pass the level.
Can a board turn out to be unsolvable? No. A full solution always exists. Running out of moves means the order was wrong — not the board.
What do the two boosters do?Rotate swings an arrow onto the other axis, Recolor paints it in a neighbouring colour. You get three charges of each, on every board.
